Welcome to the support website for Graduate Software Engineering 2009 (GSwE2009)*.  GSwE2009 is a model which provides guidelines and recommendations for any master's level program in software engineering worldwide.  It reflects new understandings in how to build software; how software engineering depends on systems engineering; and how software engineering education is influenced by specific technological domains, such as telecommunications and defense systems.

*Previous documents under this effort were published as the Graduate Software Engineering Reference Curriculum (GSwERC).  The name was changed based on feedback received in July 2009.

The IEEE Computer Society and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) have voted to sponsor GSwE2009. GSwE2009 has also been endorsed by the International  Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) and the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Systems Engineering Division, a U.S.-based organization.
